Great fun for the family Raizino2025-01-07Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Cool lighting, but shops are not that worth going to. I’d skip this and go out of town unless you love local. Randall Cieslak2024-12-30Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It wasn't too bad. So many Victorian figures Tom Mugridge2024-12-11Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great way to learn a learn a little history about Charles Dickens. You can even dress up in period outfits at the Welcome Center and take photos, great fun! Crystal Chandler2024-12-10Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Not great! Kudos to the artistry, but this is not an interactive event. Shopping for antiques and the rest you can but online. Basically you are walking around looking at statues. julie pack2024-12-10Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I really enjoyed walking around looking at all of the Dickens characters. Also really liked the light display on the courthouse. They had a few rows of benches set up, but it was standing room for 90% of the people that were there. We were okay standing, but they really should have a significant more amount of seating for this event. The carriage ride left a little to be desired. They have a cover over it, which is nice because it's cold out, but it hangs down so far that you can't see anything, unless you're a child or a very short adult. There's also no discussion whatsoever by the driver. He doesn't talk about anything you pass, he doesn't even greet you or thank you, doesn't tell you the horse's names or literally anything. You pay $12 to ride around a couple blocks, not seeing anything and just hearing the clumps of the horse. The biggest kicker of all, was just trying to get up into it. The left side footstep, is so low that it's a giant climb to get in to the carriage. The right side is not as low, but they don't let you get in on that side. I did get out on that side though and it was much easier, even though I don't think they wanted me to. Everything else about the Dickens Village was great. We did go into the Welcome Center and the lady in there was nice and it had a little store so you could purchase some stuff, i got some good smelling soap. There wasn't too much information, but she did tell us some stuff and she was very friendly. I definitely recommend coming here and visiting the Dickens Village experience. The life-size Dickens characters transforms the town into Christmas. Ate at Theo's and had great food before the show. I don't know how many volunteers it takes to pull this off, but thanks to everyone involved. It's a beautiful thing!
